Memories from the Past

Today is December 13th.  Twelve days until Christmas!  πŸŽ

Many years ago, it was my first day in the military. Friday the 13th to be honest.

I have pictures from basic training but don’t think they’re appropriate for the Internet. Here’s a picture of me during my first duty assignment.

I’m doing call duty in Spain.

And here’s a picture of my favorite pilot. πŸ™‚

Lt. Pigout, USAF reporting for duty.

I still feel incredibly fortunate that it was something I was able to do. But, times were very different.

I know, I’m so full of words right now. I don’t think anyone wants to hear about Everett Rogers’ diffusion of innovation theory and that’s what is at the top of my brain right now. It’s an interesting theory.Β

So, instead, I’ll leave with a recent quote. I’ll be back to talk about nursing and writing.

“Lincoln and Bush both called on us to choose the right over the convenient, to hope rather than to fear, and to heed not our worst impulses, but our best instincts.” — Biographer Jon Meacham during his eulogy for Former President George H. W. Bush

Embrace Hope.
